Biogas is a high quality and absolutely renewable fuel, one of the major standard-bearers of the circular economy, as it comes from the use of a wide range of organic waste. An alternative to fossil fuels that reduces greenhouse gases and helps reuse organic waste, thus contributing to reversing the effects of climate change.
How does a biogas plant work?
This renewable gas is obtained from the decomposition of organic matter through a process called anaerobic digestion, through which this matter decomposes. This results in a fuel with a composition very similar to that of natural gas that can be used in the same facilities, thus powering homes, businesses and vehicles.
Anaerobic digestion is a biological process in which organic matter, in the absence of oxygen and through the action of a group of specific bacteria, is broken down into gaseous products or “biogas” (CH4, CO2, H2, H2S, etc.), and in digestate which is a mixture of mineral products (N, P, K, Ca, etc.).
Sustainable additives for the biogas sector
Within Adintus we have two types of sustainable additives for the purpose of biogas desulfurization and methane conversion optimization.
- B-BIOPยฎ AN4400 is a product that increases biogas production using the most natural and environmentally friendly biotechnology.
- OXIREDยฎ MR11 is a product that helps the rapid desulfurization of biogas with a product of 100% natural origin obtained in a sustainable manner.
